11. Humphrey: Intelligence vs. Awareness Details
AI does what you ask. Humphrey notices what you’d never have known to ask.
Every platform bolts on AI — a checkbox on a feature list, waiting to be prompted. We gave ours a name, a face, and a category of its own: Intelligent Awareness (IA). Humphrey doesn't wait for the right question — he watches the deal and raises the thing you'd never have thought to ask. Carrot ships a feature. You get a co-pilot who actually works here.

It is not a claim that the capability does not exist, and Carrot ships continuously. Where Carrot documents a capability we scope the row to the specific thing they do not document. Carrot documents two AI billing models on two pages: crm-pricing offers an AI Suite add-on at $99/mo, while the AI features page prices AI Call Insights separately at $39/mo and bills the Autonomous Lead Manager, Lead Scoring, Opportunity Summaries and SMS Compliance on usage (~$5 Essential, ~$30 Scale, ~$115 Team). We cite both rather than pick the higher one.

Carrot now covers several stages of this lifecycle. Apex’s advantage is the number of additional stages it executes natively, and the way data flows between them.
16. Disposition: Workflow vs. Execution Details
Carrot added disposition features and called it “Disposition Management.” Under contract, their Transactions module gives you pipelines, Kanban boards, owners, tasks, notes, and profit formulas. If your problem is keeping a team organised, that solves it.
However, disposition isn’t moving a card across a board. It’s getting the property sold.
Organising a deal and disposing of one are different jobs.
How to read a feature list
When a competitor ships something better, a lot of software companies don’t build it properly. They build a thin version, give it the same name, and add it to their feature list. Now the comparison chart shows a checkmark in both columns, and it looks like a tie.
It isn’t. A checkmark tells you a feature exists. It tells you nothing about whether it does the job.
So don’t ask who has the feature. Ask what the feature actually finishes. That is why every checkmark on this page carries its scope and its price next to it — a tick on its own would tell you nothing.
Every row below asks what gets finished. Check us the same way.

Workflow isn’t execution.
Carrot’s disposition tools track where a deal is. They do not appear to find the buyer, rank the buyer, price the assignment against buyer demand, or collect the offer. Those are the steps that actually move a contract.
One tell: Carrot documents an External Sending feature that pushes an under-contract opportunity out to a third-party tool — offered for teams already running dispositions on another platform. It is one supported use case among several, not an admission. But it is a workflow that has to exist because the buyer side lives somewhere else.
Carrot capabilities were taken from Carrot’s public pricing pages, feature pages and Help Center, re-verified 16 July 2026. “No public documentation found” means exactly that — we searched the sources listed at the foot of this page and found no documentation of the capability. It is not a claim that the capability does not exist, and Carrot ships continuously. Where Carrot documents a capability we scope the row to the specific thing they do not document. Transactions and Kanban require the Scale ($179/mo) or Team ($349/mo) CRM plan.

19. We Don't Sell Permission Slips.
We Sell Infrastructure.
This isn’t just a pricing difference. It’s a philosophical one.
See if this sounds familiar:
The Logic of Upgrades
| CORE LOGIC | CARROT (Metered Model) | APEX (Superpower Model) |
|---|---|---|
| Base Engine | Throttled. (Caps on pages, keywords, seats and reports, set by tier) | Unleashed. (Unlimited everything. Full power Day 1) |
| The Upgrade | Raises the cap. (More of the capability your plan already includes) | New Physics. (Adds totally new capabilities like AI or Auto-Negotiation) |
| Philosophy | Upgrades raise limits. | "Pay us to give you superpowers." |
True Operational Cost.
The $119 sticker price is the website. Running the business on it means adding the CRM tier your seat count requires, plus the AI Suite. Those are separate subscriptions.
CarrotCRM Free fits a solo operator with light usage. Teams needing more users, sequences or AI move to paid tiers.
The cost of managing 5 different logins, broken Zaps, and fragmented data.
This is not Carrot’s minimum plan. We don’t compare entry tiers — we compare the configuration each platform needs to perform the same jobs. Where one requires multiple subscriptions or add-ons to reach the same capability, we include them. Configurations are shown by seat count, because that is what picks the CRM tier: CarrotCRM Free covers 1 user, Scale covers 5, Team covers 10. At each tier we use the cheaper of Carrot’s two documented AI paths — usage billing on Scale (~$30), the flat $99 Suite on Team (where usage averages ~$115). Apex Power-Up includes unlimited seats, so a growing team is matched against Team.
Solo on CarrotCRM Free → $119
The Pricing Truth
Don't compare features. Compare the business model. One meters capability by tier. The other ships it and charges for new capability.
This isn't a discount. It's a different category. Across this matrix, Apex documents numerous capabilities we found no equivalent for in Carrot's current public plans or documentation.
The real difference is the job you end up doing. With Carrot you assemble the stack: a site here, a booking tool there, a signing app, a spreadsheet to tie spend to closings. That work is real, and it is the work of a software integrator. Apex ships the stack assembled, so the only question left in front of you is the one you actually get paid to answer — which deal, at what number, is worth doing. One platform asks you to think like an integrator. The other lets you think like an investor. That shift — why website builders became operating systems — is bigger than either product.

A real, working marketing stack. Genuinely good, and genuinely finished.
An Apex client gets
The same website → CRM → Estimate™

→ Automation → Attribution
→ Humphrey™ → Design Studio
→ Education → Community
A business that runs on you — and keeps paying you to run it.
Every product is another line on the invoice
You build the site, you invoice for the site, and then you invoice for hosting. That is not a small business — but it is a capped one, and the cap is not your fault. It is the number of things the platform gives you to sell.
On Apex you still invoice for the website. Then you also invoice for:
CRM setup · Automation build · Estimate configuration · Design Studio · Attribution & analytics · Humphrey configuration · Repository access · OfferAid setup · DealRoom · Team training · Ongoing support · Monthly platform management
Same client. Same effort to win them. A multiple of the lifetime value.
CarrotAgency details were taken from Carrot’s public pricing page on 15 July 2026. We think it is a good product for what it is built to do; the point of this section is that it is built to do something different.
22. The Migration Engine
Switching is no longer a headache. It's a click. If you’ve already decided on leaving Carrot, that walkthrough covers what moves, what breaks and what it costs.
The #1 reason investors stay with inferior platforms is the pain of moving. We removed the pain. The Apex Migration Protocol™ scans your existing Carrot site and rebuilds your content, blogs, and SEO metadata inside Apex instantly.
Zero Downtime
Your live site stays up while we build the Apex version on a private staging server. You review and approve everything before we flip the switch.
Full Data Transport
We don't just move text. We migrate your blog posts, SEO meta-tags, images, and lead forms automatically.
SEO-conscious migration: existing URLs, metadata, content and redirects are preserved wherever technically possible. Search rankings are controlled by search engines and cannot be guaranteed.
The Final Verdict
This is a factual comparison between a website-first lead-generation and CRM platform and a broader, integrated real-estate operating system.

Get Started with Apex Vivus™Carrot alternative: common questions
Short answers, sourced to Carrot’s public documentation. Last re-verified 16 July 2026.
What does Carrot do better than Apex Vivus?
Five things, on this page’s own scoring. Carrot has a far larger third-party integration ecosystem. Its AI Call Insights ($39/mo) ships call transcripts, summaries, call ratings and action items today, where our equivalent is still in development. Its Autonomous Lead Manager holds a real two-way SMS conversation with a lead autonomously. Its Video-to-Text tool turns YouTube videos into pages at $1.80/min. And it sells 1:1 human strategy calls with a marketing strategist as a $69/mo add-on. On SEO the two match: Carrot’s rank tracker reports search volume, which Google Search Console doesn’t — Apex reports every query with no keyword cap.
If those are what you need, Carrot is the better buy, and we say so in the tables rather than hiding it.
How much does Carrot cost compared to Apex Vivus?
Carrot’s $119/mo Individual website includes CarrotCRM Free — 1 user, 3 sequences, 5 property reports a month. A solo operator with light usage pays $119 and has a working CRM. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Paid CRM tiers are a separate subscription: Essential $69 (3 users), Scale $179 (5 users), Team $349 (10 users). AI has two documented paths — usage billing, which Carrot’s AI page averages at ~$5 on Essential, ~$30 on Scale and ~$115 on Team, or a flat AI Suite add-on at $99/mo. AI Call Insights is a separate $39/mo.
So a 5-user team on Scale with usage AI is about $328/mo. A 10-user team on Team runs $567/mo with the AI Suite — which at that tier is actually cheaper than usage billing.
Apex Vivus Core is $97/mo and Power-Up is $147/mo, with unlimited seats on both.
Does Carrot have a CRM?
Yes. CarrotCRM is a full CRM with automated follow-up sequences, two-way texting and email, AI lead scoring, property reports with nearby comps, native e-signature on paid tiers (5, 20 or 50 sends per month), automated workflows and transaction management on Scale and Team. Anyone telling you Carrot is “just a website” has not looked at it recently.
So what is the actual difference between Apex Vivus and Carrot?
Broader, and deeper on most of what overlaps. Carrot reaches four of the fourteen steps in a deal — lead generation, lead management, follow-up and internal transaction workflow — and it is a serious product across those four. This page scores Carrot the winner on five rows.
Depth, on capabilities both platforms have. Of the rows Apex wins, 35 are head-to-head against something Carrot also ships. One CRM seat becomes unlimited. Three sequences become unlimited. Five property reports a month become uncapped. A multi-step form that reloads the page between steps becomes single-page progressive. Thirty-five tracked keywords become every query Google reports. Campaign-level call attribution becomes session-level, with the ad cost attached. For agencies, 100 rank-tracked keywords shared across every client become 100 per client.
Coverage, on the rest. Underwriting, rehab estimation, offer economics, buyer matching, contractor execution, multi-touch attribution and a shared deal repository — we found no public documentation of any of it at Carrot, at any price.
The practical test: when a motivated seller is on the phone, Carrot can price the house. Apex prices the deal — what they owe, what it clears, and who will buy it — while the call is still live. The longer version of that argument is beyond the website.
Does Carrot have AI tools?
Yes, and they are good. AI Rewrite is included with the website. AI Call Insights, the Autonomous Lead Manager, AI Lead Scoring, AI Opportunity Summaries and AI SMS Compliance all ship today. The Autonomous Lead Manager even takes tone instructions so its texts sound like you. What we found no public documentation of is a single reasoning layer that reads across the website, the CRM, the ad accounts and closed revenue at once.
How trustworthy is this comparison? You sell one of these products.
We do, so read it accordingly. What we can offer instead of neutrality is verifiability: every Carrot claim is taken from Carrot’s own public pricing pages, feature pages and Help Center, each linked at the foot of the page and dated. Where Carrot wins, we mark Carrot the winner. Where the two products work differently rather than better or worse, we score it a match or leave it unscored.
If a row is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it within five business days. See also: why investors leave Carrot, or the Carrot alternative migration guide if you’ve already decided.
Legal Disclaimers & Public References
Why we compare on public documentation. Every capability on this page is judged against what Carrot publishes — pricing pages, feature pages and the Help Center. We use that standard deliberately, because it is the same standard a buyer has. A capability that is not documented cannot be evaluated, priced, or relied on by someone deciding what to buy. If a feature exists but is not written down anywhere a prospect can find it, it is not part of the offer they are being asked to pay for.
What “no public documentation found” does and does not mean. It means we searched the sources listed below on the date shown and did not find the capability documented. It is not a claim that the capability does not exist. Carrot ships continuously, and a row that is accurate today can be wrong next month. Where Carrot documents a capability, we say so and narrow the comparison to the specific thing they do not document.
Correction policy. If you work at Carrot, or anywhere else, and a row here is wrong or out of date — including a capability that exists but was undocumented when we checked — tell us and we will correct it within five business days and re-date the row. Point us at the documentation and we will cite it. We would rather be corrected than be wrong: a comparison page is only worth the trust it holds, and every row here is one we would rather fix than defend.
On Carrot’s own words: Where this page says a capability is undocumented, that is our search result, not Carrot’s statement. One exception — on its AI features page Carrot states directly: “We do not currently have an AI Voice Agent, but you can integrate your preferred solution into CarrotCRM.” That is Carrot’s characterisation, not ours.
